The AT&T Foundation is helping Son of a Saint transform the lives and futures of fatherless boys through a $25,000 contribution to support academic intervention programing and bridging the digital divide.
The contribution from the AT&T Foundation will support technology-based initiatives including tutoring, remedial classes, and Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) programs, as well as mentoring.
“Growing from a boy to a man is incredibly difficult for youngsters without a responsible, caring father in their lives to walk beside them and guide them on the journey,” said Sheriff Marlin N. Gusman. “My deputies and I see the effects of that every day. The transformative work of Son of a Saint not only makes a difference for the boys engaged in the program, but that difference will echo for generations. I am pleased to support their work.”
“Our mission is to equip boys with the tools they need to become productive men with hope, vision and the opportunity for a positive future,” said Bivian “Sonny” Lee III, Founder and CEO of Son of a Saint. “Support from leaders like Sheriff Gusman, as well as corporate citizens like AT&T, illustrates how we can change the future by working together as a community today.”
